How to get a home blood test with your doctor's request form
Short answer: If your GP or specialist has given you a pathology request form, you can book a registered nurse to collect it at your home or workplace. With Express Pathology the home visit costs $129 in metro areas or $149 in regional areas, paid upfront, and you upload your form when you book.

What your doctor's form covers
Your form lists the tests your doctor wants. The laboratory processes and bills those tests under its own policy, and many are eligible for Medicare. The home visit fee is separate and is not claimed through Medicare.
What to have ready
- Your original request form, or the copy you uploaded.
- Photo ID.
- Any fasting or timing instructions from your doctor.

Where do my results go?
Results from your doctor's request form go to the doctor who requested them, as with any pathology collection.
Can you visit an elderly parent?
Yes. We regularly visit people at home who find it hard to get to a collection centre. You can book on their behalf.
