Do I need a GP referral?
No. As a Lighthouse member you're booking directly through Express Pathology's NATA-accredited partner labs. No GP visit, no referral letter, no gatekeeping.
How does the at-home service work?
After you order, our nurse coordinator contacts you within 4 hours to schedule a time that suits you — at your home, office, or any address you choose. A NATA-accredited nurse arrives at the agreed time, completes your blood collection in around 15 minutes, and transports the sample directly to the lab. Available across Sydney metro and most major Australian cities.
What if I'd rather visit a centre?
No problem. Choose "in-centre collection" at checkout and visit any of 2,000+ 4Cyte or Australian Clinical Labs centres nationwide. Most accept walk-ins with minimal wait time. Your pathology form is generated automatically — just show it on arrival.
Do I need to fast?
Yes. The Performance Panel requires an 8-hour fast. Water is fine — and encouraged. It's best to do your collection in the morning, and your nurse coordinator will confirm your appointment is scheduled accordingly.
How fast do I get results?
Most results return within 24–48 hours of collection — whether you chose mobile or in-centre. IGF-1 and growth hormone can take up to 72 hours. Results are delivered directly to your Lighthouse practitioner, who reviews and interprets them in your follow-up consultation.
What does the panel actually cover?
It's a complete sports and hormone profile: the full hormonal axis (testosterone, estradiol, SHBG, LH, FSH, prolactin, progesterone, DHEA-S, cortisol) plus IGF-1 and growth hormone, full metabolic and lipid studies, liver and kidney function, magnesium, glucose, high-sensitivity CRP, a full blood count, and Vitamin D and PSA. Over 30 individual markers in one draw.
Can I claim on private health?
Direct-to-consumer pathology generally isn't covered by Medicare or private health insurance, since you're bypassing the GP referral pathway. Speak to your fund directly to confirm.
